Last tuesday I met with the presidents of the sororities and fraternities on campus to present my Green Greeks program idea to them.  It was accepted extremely well, and everyone seemed enthusiastic about it.  I got a lot of support from the Greek Life Coordinator, Laura Gordon, who is focused on bringing together the sororities and fraternities on campus. Not only will the Greeks have more chances to do some positive things together, but having a Green Greeks program that will show that Greeks are helping to make the world a more sustainable place will really shed much-needed positive light on the Greek community.  One of the fraternity presidents even suggested teaming up to do a weekend long greening project, something that could really have a big impact.  Additionally, Laura Gordon added that a community cleanup day would be a great project to undertake, especially since some of the off-campus areas can look a little shabby.  So, all in all the presentation went really well.  Now I'm just waiting to hear back from the presidents on who will undertake their chair position.  After that I will plan our first Green Greek meeting, and things will be well underway!

Hi everyone! I just finished re-doing Moravian's wiki site for its sustainability interns. This is just one of the many projects I am trying to tackle this semester. In addition to the wiki-site, I am also working on creating a website for the Sustainability Task Force, jump-starting a program to get campus Greeks involved in sustainability (Green Greeks), and dealing with some of the recycling issues at Moravian. Also, I have been trying to recruit someone on campus to finish the college's Greenhouse Gas Emission (GHG) Inventory.

These are just a few of the things on my agenda, but I hope to share more with everyone through this site.
