Moravian's Environmental Coalition strives to educate the campus community and promote awareness of environmental-friendly lifestyles and sustainable consumption of resources. The current advisor is Dr. Hilde Binford, Assistant Professor of Music. The EnviroCo students recently proposed for the new South Campus residential hall to be green.  Here is the EnviroCo Green Building Proposal.  The Environmental Coalition's main focus right now is on recycling:  putting up posters, sending out monthly emails, and putting out some facts to the campus.   EnviroCo plans to participate in Focus the Nation and help out through marketing/advertisement and possibly sponsoring certain events.

 

         Projects for the semester, Fall 07':

            1.  Recycling + education on campus
                   -will work with IMPACT to put up fliers around bathroom stalls and possibly hold a educational event
                  -get more bins around academic buildings and outdoors
                  -working with Tri-Beta on recycling glassware & other chemical jars/old textbooks in the science building
                        Bethlehem does not take pyrex so all broken glassware is tossed out
        2.  Food court projects:
                  -work with STF dining subcommittee
                  -reduce plastic bag usage
                  -weekly advertisement of most eco-friendly/healthy meal
                  -start food composting at Moravian
        3.  Paper usage
                  -will meet with business department and present at a faculty meeting
                  -get student consensus for duplex printing through USG
                            -met with USG's to discuss the new student printing policy and other ways to save paper
           4.  South campus dorm proposal revision
